Big Lake, TX Supercell Time Lapse

Here’s another time lapse, this time from the Big Lake area in Texas on May 24th, 2014.

The storm had a rotating wall cloud, but was beginning to weaken as we approached it. A short time later we dropped south to a nearby supercell. We ended up driving through nickel to ping pong sized hail before the storm went tornado-warned.

This time lapse focuses on the first supercell and ends up with the hail. Because of the resolution and speed, the hail can’t be seen. A few minutes later I stopped the car to bring in the camera, in fear that large hail might have knocked it off the suction cup mount.
